27/10/2011 GWP has finished modernization of Water quality laboratory
CEO of Georgian Water and Power Joerg Matthies and technical director Omar Gotsiridze along with Sakrebulo members – Gogi Chachanidze and Koki Ionatamashvili have visited modernized water quality laboratory and got acqainted with working process.
GWP has finished central laboratory modernization process just now and has invested 1.5 mln Laris. Latest European equipment and additional devices helps company to make water quality checking in more higher complex manner.
According to Joerg Matthies with the help of newly equipped laboratory, company will be able to carry out water quality checking procedures more effectively and monitor all ongoing processes more precisely. Along with this, laboratory is preparing to recieve ISO 17025 standard certificate.
Among the newly purchased equipment one of the most important are GS-MS Gas Chromatograph, Emissions - Plasma Spectrophotometers and Ion Chromatograph. The equipment of organic compounds - petroleum products, easily determine the level of volatile substances and pesticides, and also fixes a small amount of pure existence; ICP-OES emissions - up to 33 elements determined by the plasma spectrophotometers. Central laboratory specialists check water quality on 24 hour basis and also in the use of sanitary - toxicological data, which determines taste qualities.
On a regular basis, "Georgian Water and Power" carries out water quality research along with its chemical and microbiological parameters. Central Chemical-Microbiological Laboratory coordinates and controls the operation of the company in all laboratories. Company"s specialists control drinking water quality and provide non-stop, constant check. Drinking water quality fully meets the national standards and recommendations of the International Health Organization.
