10/07/2014 Majority deputy of City Assembly Giorgi Muskhelishvili had a look at works in progress related to Tskhneti water supply networks
Population of Tskhneti settlement will be supplied drinking water in 24-hour mode starting from 2015, while water supply of Tabidze street in Tskhneti is going to become way more sustainable in near future. Georgian Water and Power company is replacing obsolete waterworks by new utility systems in Tabidze street of Tskhneti as well as in various districts of Tbilisi. It is also carrying out package of technical works to ensure 24-hour water supply for the whole population of Tskhneti.
CEO of Georgian Water and Power Giorgi Gachechiladze familiarized Mr. Giorgi Muskhelishvili - majority deputy of Vake district in newly elected City Assembly with the Tabidze street water supply networks’ renewal process in Tskhneti and the works in progress aimed at ensuring 24-hour supply of drinking water for the residents of the same settlement.
Georgian Water and Power is totally replacing the amortized underground utility systems in 70 streets of Tbilisi within the framework of the current year investment program. The program covers several districts of Tskhneti, including Tabidze street, where part of the obsolete networks has been already renewed. Georgian Water and Power will lay 970 meters of water pipes of various diameters in Tabidze street. The company will also install new multipurpose valves and arrange 2 new wells in the street. As of today the total length of water supply and sewage old networks replaced in Queen Tamar, Saakadze, Tbilisi, Arsena and Kostava streets of Tskhneti makes up 4,400 meters.
Georgian Water and Power is carrying out in parallel package of works in Tskhneti and other settlements recently included in new administrative borders of Tbilisi – laying new main and distribution networks with total length of 25,000 meters. Besides it is planned to rehabilitate 3 water reservoirs and construct a pumping station. The construction of water supply system of Tskhneti will be finished by the end of the current year.
Georgian Water and Power will complete the project of ensuring 24-hour water supply in new administrative borders of Tbilisi by the end of 2014, which means that 24-hour supply of drinking water will be ensured for the newly added territories of the capital city instead of its scheduled supply.
