12/01/2015 Statement of „Georgian Water and Power“ related to the emergency situation in Javakhishvili Ascent
Emergency crews of „Georgian Water and Power“ company have been mobilized at #21 Javakhishvili Ascent where the roadway crashed this morning. Due to the instant collapse of the driveway’s right side main pipeline of d=500 mm was damaged. Presently the company’s emergency crews are doing urgent technical works. Special purpose machinery has been mobilized on the scene of the accident and water supply has been discontinued in order to discharge corresponding networks of the water supply system.
The roadway of Javakhishvili Ascent suddenly collapsed this morning. Immediately after the company’s Hot Line received the notification the emergency crews rushed to the scene of accident. No damage on the mentioned section of Javakhishvili Ascent was reported to the company’s Hot Line before this morning.
The water pipe restoration works are still in progress. Water supply has been discontinued to Javakhishvili Ascent, Kiacheli, Akhvklediani, Sakanela, Ushangi Chkheidze streets in order to remove the damage, as well as to small section of Marjanishvili and Sakanela streets and Radisson Blue Iveria hotel.
„Georgian Water and Power“ company will do its best to finish the work as soon as possible and resume water supply to the above-mentioned streets. „Georgian Water and Power“ company will provide additional information about the water supply resumption.
