19/03/2015 “Georgian Water & Power” issues special statement for the residents of Tbilisi
Georgian Water & Power company expresses concern over the recent actions of the citizens who seek to willfully close the water valves by unauthorized entrance into the wells of water conduit. As such facts have become more frequent lately the Company issues a special statement for the residents of Tbilisi and urges them to take care.
Georgian Water & Power considers as inacceptable such willful actions which in the first place exposes to risk the citizens’ safety and in the second place causes the water valves damage and discontinuation of water supply to the population of certain areas for several hours. The company is made to replace the damaged multipurpose valves which causes unexpected expenses on a monthly basis.
The citizens resort to such willful actions when they wish to replace damaged water supply system inside their flats and are unable to discontinue water supply locally. For this reason they are attempting to close on their own the valves installed in the wells of water supply main. Therefore Georgian Water & Power, in order to avoid expectable troubles, calls on the population to necessarily appeal to GWP with individual applications for the discontinuation of water supply from the main network. In case if the situation is desperate due to emergency breakdown on the customer internal network and can be improved only by immediate discontinuation of water supply, the citizens have to call the company’s Hot Line at 293 11 11, or try online chat of the website at - www.georgianwater.com.
