10/12/2015 The joint working group planned emergency operations to improve the Vedzisi settlement water supply
Water supply interruptions will be minimized in Vedzisi settlement of Saburtalo district in the next few days. Head of Saburtalo district administration Beka Mikautadze and operations director of GWP Mamuka Kikalishvili visited today the site of current work performed on the water supply networks of Vedzisi under the initiative of the city council and Georgian Water and Power new management.
The work aimed at improving the water supply in Vedzisi was specially planned by the working group composed of representatives of the City Council, Saburtalo district and GWP. In particular GWP is installing the valves on the water supply networks of the settlement. Overall 16 new valves will be installed on the networks of different diameters of the settlement. The work started this morning and will continue in non-stop mode until tomorrow morning to reduce to a minimum discomfort of the population of Vedzisi caused by the interruptions in water supply.
The initiative of the city council and Georgian Water and Power new management, which envisages the establishment of joint working groups for the coordinated performance of the infrastructure works, has been launched recently. The working groups consisting of representatives of the City Council, District Administrations and GWP have been established in all districts of the capital city by this time. They plan through joint efforts the work aimed at improving the infrastructure, including the water supply and sewage networks’ rehabilitation. The working groups are also monitoring the technical work so that to ensure their completion in a timely manner.
