20/12/2015 Fraudulent Scheme Works in Tbilisi for Selling Drinking Water Filters
It has become known for Georgian Water and Power Company that representatives of one of the firms being engaged in sales of drinking water filters, posing as German company, misinform the population about quality of tap water.
On December 19, a representative of the mentioned firm met with the population of various residential buildings in Nutsubidze IV microregion and he made the so called “testing water” in the presence of the population misleading them that the tap water was of poor quality and under the motive offered to buy filters. Last week the same person tried to mislead population in Rustavi.
Georgian Water and Power Company makes a request for the population not to open the door for swindlers and not to succumb to disinformation and in such cases contact GWP Hot Line for detection of fraudulent scheme.
For information – 72 hour research is necessary for thorough analysis of drinking water. GWP is fully responsible saying that drinking water supplied to the capital is absolutely safe for health; it is in compliance with national standards of Georgia and WHO recommendations. GWP chemical and microbiological laboratories control the water quality supplied to the population of Tbilisi uninterruptedly round the clock. All laboratories have been accredited in compliance with ISO-17025 standard, which is a guarantor for quality protection of drinking water.
Safety division of the company has been involved in the process of detecting swindlers. Georgian Water and Power is planning to address Ministry of Internal Affairs as well for taking legal proceedings.
