19/01/2016 Georgian Water and Power will cover water utility bills for "Child and Environment" NGO within 2016
Georgian Water and Power will cover the cost of water consumed in 2016 by the non-governmental organization of "Child and Environment." The Company’s management made such decision upon becoming familiar with the organization's future plans together with member of city council of Didube district, Tbilisi, Vladimer Dzneladze.
On the initiative of Vladimer Dzneladze Members of the City Council of Tbilisi: chairman Giorgi Alibegashvili, first deputy chairman Giorgi Tkhemaladze, chairman of health and social affairs commission Irakli Pavlenishvili, chairman of the sports and youth affairs commission Mrs. Ketevan Jokhadze and other members, as well as CEO of GWP Giorgi Tskhadadze and other representatives of new managers of the Company visited the "Child and Environment" non-governmental organization in #4 Abastumani street on the occasion of Epiphany holiday.
The guests handed over various food products, books and sweet stuff to the NGO, which maintains about 80 permanent child beneficiaries for the moment.
The Chairman and members of the Council and GWP senior officials became familiar with the specific work of "Child and Environment" NGO and the course of a variety of programs, as well as discussed the problems and challenges facing the organization at this stage.
As the head of "Child and Environment" NGO Mrs. Nana Iashvili pointed out during the discussion they plan to significantly increase the number of beneficiary children in the near future. Taking this into account, GWP management together with the member of Council of Didube District, decided to cover the communal water bill of the NGO within 2016. In addition, the Company will take care to improve communal conditions of the child beneficiaries this year and put in order water supply and sewage internal networks of the NGO building as necessary.
There are three types of child centers under the umbrella of "Child and Environment" NGO: the Beghurebi (the sparrows) 24-hour crisis center for children living and working in the streets, the disabled children center of “Imedi” (hope) and socially vulnerable children center of Tsisartkhela (rainbow). All three centers are located in the same building. "Child and Environment" has been implementing all programs under the State funding.
