01/07/2016 Weekly reports of Georgian Water and Power Company to the Population
Georgian Water and Power Company together with the Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia started employment forum on July 1 to promote development of the water supply industry.
The project is aimed at attracting the students and graduates with innovative ideas majoring in technical and natural sciences. The Forum and Creaton winners will join a three-month internship program at Georgian Water and Power Company with further prospect of employment.
GWP hosted this week representatives of the Maestro, Rustavi 2, the First Agency, Cavkaspress, the Georgian Times, the Banking and Finance, Rezonansi, Info 9 and Reportiori for regular media tour of the company’s facilities.
The journalists saw around Grmaghele filter station, Saguramo pumping station and visited the laboratory, where the water analysis is being conducted in 24- hour mode.
The guests also visited the construction process of Saguramo HPP, completion of which is scheduled for October of the current year.
Media representatives surveyed Natakhtri water catchment facility, Misaktsieli infiltration areas and Zhinvali water reservoir.
This week GWP continues rehabilitation works in various districts of Tbilisi.
In particular GWP started the main water supply network rehabilitation in Mukhrani street as a result of which a 450-meter section of 900-mm network will be replaced.
A 160-meter section of water supply new network is being arranged in Panaskerteli street of Saburtalo district, which will significantly improve water supply for the residents of the said street.
The ongoing rehabilitation work in Mebaghishvili street of Gldani district is nearing completion stage. A 500-meter section of water main is being replaced by a new one.
The said works will ensure stable water supply in the above-mentioned districts.
