18/10/2011 Rehabilitation works site visit on Arsena street
Today, CEO of "Georgian Water and Power" Joerg Matthiese and the company"s operative management visited ongoing rehabilitation works on water supply and sewerage networks, along with Old Tbilisi District Governor - Davit Avaliani, Old Tbilisi District Deputy and the accomplishment municipal department head - George Kochiashvili. They visited Arsena"s street in order to see rehabilitation works done.
Kurdiani street is one of the 50 streets, where the reconstruction works are being carried out during this year by GWP. The length of changed pipelines on Kurdiani street has summed up 600 meters. Rehabilitation processes are done on main pipes and its branching. At present, 4 well are rehabilitated, where 12 new bolts are installed.
Reconstruction works are being carried out on 50 streets simultaniuosly in different regions of Tbilisi. Georgian Water and Power will invest up to 10 million laris in rehabilitation works. Water supply and sewerage network is being rehabilitated for all diameters. The total length of changed pipelines is 45 kilometers.
At this stage, intensive work is going on 17 Street: Vera 3 - to I m/district. Digomi, Ipolitov - Ivanov, Khevdzmari Didgori, Chikovani, Zigzagis, Gvazauri, Tsintsadze, Voronin, Catholicos Anton, Kharabadze, Kurdiani, Uchaneishvili, Babushkinis, Samgori and Nadareishvili streets. The company has already completed its work and the networks has changed the 18 Street. Company has already finished works on 11 streets. In 2010, company has changed 70 km of pipelines on 110 streets of Tbilisi.
As a result rehabilitation of networks, will become much more stable water supply for the population. It has significantly reduced the number of losses and damages of water supply networks, which, to some extent, contribute the continuous water supply.
