08/05/2014 Replacement of water supply and sewage obsolete networks is going on in 70 streets of Tbilisi
Rehabilitation process of water supply and sewage networks of Tbilisi streets passed into drastic phase.“Georgian Water & Power” company is replacing obsolete and amortized underground communications with new communications in the streets of different districts of the capital city. The company is completely renewing networks of more than 70 streets of Tbilisi. Total length of the networks under rehabilitation makes up more than 60 kilometers.
Presently “Georgian Water & Power” has finished the works in 25 streets of Didube-Chughureti, Saburtalo, Samgori, Nadzaladevi, Vake, Gldani and Mtatsminda districts. The obsolete underground communications were completely replaced in all of these streets, new closing and regulatory valves were installed, water supply and sewage new wells were arranged. 18 more streets will be added to the list of the completed works in one of these days. The company is planning to start simultaneously in mid-May the rehabilitation works in 20 more streets.
The company warns the residents of Tbilisi that it is impossible to carry out the rehabilitation works without the water supply discontinuation to separate districts. But as a result of the streets rehabilitation the water supply of Tbilisi population will become way more stable, the rate of losses and failures in the water supply networks will significantly decrease and make more stable and reliable the capital city’s water supply.
