02/02/2015 Earth Collapsed Once More in the Foundation of the Building Under Construction Near Moduli # 1 Tavkhelidze Str.
This morning in Vazha Pshavela Avenue in front of the so called Moduli building in # 1 Tavkhelidze Str. earth collapsed once more on the territory of unearthed foundation of the house under construction. It impeded the works carried out by emergency crews of Georgian Water and Power. Luckily there were no fatalities in that accident.
Emergency crews and special equipment of Technical Department of Georgian Water and Power have been mobilized not far from Moduli Building, where at present necessary amount of ballast has been brought in for strengthening the foundation pit and preventing from the earth collapse. By now water supply has still been discontinued to buildings # 78 b and 76 b, as well as to office of Georgian Unified Water Supply Company in Vazha Pshavela Avenue.
The collapse on the area of unearthed foundation pit of the building under construction near Moduli in # 1 Tavkhelidze Str. took place yesterday. As a result of the collapse, main sewerage network was damaged. The company has been carrying out works on the sewerage network since yesterday.
According to Georgian Water and Power information, company Bani Ltd was carrying out construction works. The company has not renewed technical permission issued for construction in 2007. In addition Bani Ltd. has not strengthened the unearthed foundation pit in compliance with the technical norms, which caused collapse of the earth and damage to the sewerage network of Georgian Water and Power.
Company Georgian Water and Power will make every effort to promptly complete the works and renew water supply by the end of the day.
