23/12/2015 Quality of water supply is going to significantly improve in upper zones of Tbilisi
New management of Georgian Water and Power Company is carrying out an important work in the villages of upper zone of Tbilisi. Water supply of Tsavkisi, Kojori and Kiketi villages included in the Mtatsminda district of Tbilisi will significantly improve from 2016. The head of Mtatsminda district administration Gela Archvadze and operations director of GWP Mamuka Kikalishvili inspected in Kojori and Kiketi today the water infrastructure rehabilitation process planned by the joint task force under the initiative of Tbilisi administration and new management of Georgian Water and Power Company.
The work being performed in Tsavkisi, Kojori and Kiketi to improve water supply was jointly planned by the task force consisting of representatives of Tbilisi administration, Mtatsminda district administration and GWP. In particular more than 20 streets of all three villages are going to have completely renewed water supply system instead of the obsolete one. New closing and regulatory valves are being installed and new key wells are being arranged. Over 20 kilometers of distribution networks of different diameters are to be replaced in all three villages as a whole. GWP will complete the rehabilitation work in one month. Accordingly the water supply of population of Tsavkisi, Kojori and Kiketi is going to be more reliable and stable since February, 2016.
The initiative of Tbilisi administration and new management of Georgian Water and Power envisaging the establishment of joint task force for the purpose of coordinating infrastructural works has been effective over a month. The task forces composed of representatives of the capital city’s administration, district administrations and GWP have been established in all the districts of Tbilisi. They are drawing up participatory action plans for the infrastructure’s improvement, including the water supply and sewage networks rehabilitation. The task forces are also monitoring the technical works to ensure their completion within the prescribed time limit.
